Do you like training to some cool playlists that you get to create and ride too?

Our high performance youth training program is designed to achieve all of the above.

 

It is a uniquely designed program for secondary-aged teenagers (13-17 years) which takes place in an environment which is safe, uses state of the art equipment and software, is educational, inclusive, fun with some great music

 

In fact at the beginning of the program, we will ask each rider for a list of their favorite songs and play them during the training weeks

 

The sessions are non-impact targeted training on-bike training suitable for Riders, Rowers, Runners, Football, Netball, Basketball, Soccer, Swimmers & more.

 

Coaches of this program are:

  1. Junior Track National Champion & Australian Team Rider –  Thomas McFarlane.
  2. Founder of Cycle Collective – Adam Pearson

 

How it works:

 

  • Each rider will be tested for fitness & strength levels (on the bike) at the beginning & the end of the program.
  • The actual test is 3 mins (the goal is hold the highest power possible for the 3 mins) It’s a condensed version of a Functional Threshold Power Test (FTP) that is used for accurate indoor training
  • At the end of the test – we create a personalized training Zone card, specifically for each rider and these cards are used as the training intensities for each session.
  • Sessions will be periodized & programmed for improvements in Strength, Power & Endurance for riders.
  • Outdoor riding and other cardio exercise is also recommended.

 

Dates and Times:

 

  • Starts on Tuesday July 30th and runs for 7 weeks
  • Riders will be tested for fitness & strength levels (on the bike) at the beginning & the end of the program.
  • The final session will be on September 10th.
  • Sessions run for 45 mins 1 x per week on Tuesdays after school.
  • Sessions will start at 4:30 pm.
  • Sessions will be at the Richmond Studio.

 

Cost:  $149 for the 7 sessions (includes shoe hire)

 

What to bring:

 

  1. Water bottle
  2. Sweat towel

Participants should wear activewear/ cycling knicks for comfort

The bikes use SPD cleats so if riders have their own shoes, please bring along

The studio has shoe sizes 38-48 and shoe hire is included in the price

On-site showers are available
