Where is the studio located?

We are riding at 359 Bridge Rd, Richmond.

I’ve never done a spin class before. Which class should I take?

Due to the nature of our zone card training system, most classes are accessible to all riders. However the green classes ( see classes tab) include a higher level of intensity and it is recommended that riders work toward these sessions.

How do I get to the studio and can I park?

Our studios are close to public transport. Free 2hour parking  in available  on surrounding streets, metered  parking is available on Bridge Rd.

Do I have to book into class?

Yes!

You can check the timetable and book into class online up to an hour before class begins.

You will also need to book a bike to use for the class ( this is how the leaderboard system knows your rider profile). You will be prompted to do this upon booking into a class.

You can also book using MindBody however bike choice is not supported.

Please be aware that you will be charged a no-show fee if you fail to attend.

Can I use my Intro Pass at the studio?

Yes.

What should I wear to a spin class?

What ever you feel comfortable wearing. Most riders wear padded cycling knicks (for comfort) but the option is yours.

If you are wearing leggins or exercise shorts, we recommend using a seat cushion – they are found in the basked on the instructor stage.

What should I bring to a spin class?

Water bottle – we have a chilled water fountain for refilling bottles

You will sweat! Please bring a sweat towel .

What do I do when I get to the studio?

Richmond – Enter via Bridge Rd, Say hello to your instructor, tell them your full name and let them know that it’s your first time at the studio so they can show you around and make your feel comfortable.

Where do I put my belongings while I spin?

Richmond – Please store your belongings in a secure locker in the change rooms or  in the storage cubes.

Theft is an extremely uncommon practice in the cycle collective community, so you can be very confident your belongings are always safe!

When does my Intro Pass start?

Your Intro Pass will activate on your first class booking and is valid for 10 days. Please note: we are unable to suspend/hold or extend the Intro Pass.

What happens at the end of my Intro Pass?

Do instructors assist with bike set up and zone card choice?

Yes, all our instructors are skilled at visual indoor bike fitting and will ask you a few questions about any injuries / contra-indicators that may affect the bike set up

All instructors will discuss your current fitness level and exercise regieme and recommend the right zone card to use within the sessions

How do I remember my bike set up so I fit the bike correctly each time i ride?

Personalized zone cards are located at the instructor bike station. The card will guide you to set write the bike measurements on the bike set up picture.

After your sessions, just ask the instructor for a “Bike Set Up” card – record your seat and handle bar settings, so you will be ready for your next ride

We recommend taking a photo of the “Set Up” card for easy reference.
“Bike Set Up Cards” can be found a the front of the studio, near the bike wipes

How do i get my PTP test done to create my personalized zone card?

PTP Testing sessions are scheduled on the timetable – they run 1 x per month per studio

You will need a testing credit to book into these sessions. Testing sessions are 20 mins and testing credits cost $20

Can I gift an Intro Pass or Class Pass to someone else?

Yes! Just pop into the studio and we can help you out or email us HERE

I’m an experienced spinner/cyclist. Which class should I take?

This depends on what you want to achieve from your training. All classes are designed for a purpose – see class tab here.

Can I participate in spin classes if I am injured?

Yes – infact on-bike rehab is beneficial for many injuries. Whether this is remaining fit whilst an injury heals or strengthening via non-impact exercise. Depending on the type of injury. You may need a referral from your specialist/ physio etc. Advise the instructor prior to the session so ensure your personalized bike set up

Can I spin or train on indoor bikes while I am pregnant?

Yes. If you have had no complications and have been given the ok from your doctor you are welcome to ride.  Please tell the class instructor at the beginning of each session of your pregnancy and if you have any physical or physiological requirements. Over time your bike set up will need to be adjusted to for comfort. Please be mindful of your heart rate an effort levels and it recommended not to participate in Green classes in the later terms of your pregnancy.

Can I bring my children to the studio?

Yes. Children are however the responsibility of the parent or guardian. In both studios there is a communal seating area the children may sit at during the spin/indoor bike sessions .Teenagers aged 14-17 are welcome to attend class if accompanied by an adult ( no concession rates apply – no child pricing is available).

Do you have child-minding facilities?

No.

Can I claim back my spin/ indoor cycling sessions from my health fund?

It depends on your Health Fund but most likely not

Cycle Collective is  happy to provide invoices for membership and pass payments. These invoices will display your pass/membership purchase, dates of purchase  and value of purchase. The invoice will also show our ABN number, business logo and address.

Do you run Women's specific training programs ?

We regularly run 6 and 8 week Women’s Tiered and fixed length intensive Programs. For more information click here.

Can I bring my pets to the studio?

No.

What is the leaderboard system used in classes?

Performance software displays each riders Power and Cadence (RPM) in real time on the screens for all riders to view. You may opt out of displaying this data if you wish.

Riders are allocated a position on a leaderboard, based on either KJ output or watts/kg, relative to other riders in the class.

Your position on the leader board may change during an interval or during a entire class.

If you have, even a slight, competitive nature, the numbers will motivate you!. Competing against  yourself and your own previous performances or someone is in the class.

Instantly see your performance and celebrate hitting your personal milestones.

Using our software, receive emailed  ride stats after your done and track your sessions over time to see how far you have come!

Do I need cycling shoes?

Richmond – bring your own or rent our shoes for $1 ( sizes 37 – 48)

Cleats required are SPD (mountain bike)

Runners can also be used on the blue (Stages) bikes

What are the power meter number of the bikes?
Do the studios have shower and bathroom facilities?

We have change room and bathroom facilities, however no shower facilities

We recommend using Richmond Aquatic Centre for showering – cost @ $4.10 for a casual use

What is the cancellation window on classes?

You can cancel a class up to 2 hours before the class start time.

What happens if I am late for class?

We know stuff happens – sometimes completely out of your control – but late entry disturbs the teacher and the other students, and missing the warm up could increase your risk of injury. Missed booked classes will incur a fee to the value of the booked ride.

Please arrive a few minutes prior to scheduled class starting times.

What happens if I am Waitlisted for a class?

If you are successful in getting off a waitlist into a class, you will be emailed as soon as the reservation availability occurs

Currently, the only option for notification is via email.

If we have someone on standby for a spot in a class and you’re not at the session at the start time you’ll lose your spot and they’ll be put in the class.

How do I see what classes I've asked to be notified about?

You can see all the classes you’ve booked to be notified about on your dashboard and can cancel the notification at any time.

What happens if I cancel outside of the 2 hour window?

If you have a 5, 10 or 20 class or drop in pass: a class will be deducted from the pass.

If you have a membership or Intro Pass: you’ll be charged a $25 ‘no-show’ fee.

How does billing work?

Membership payments are direct-debited from your account on a monthly schedule from the day you sign up, or you can nominate a date that syncs with your pay cycle.  Your account will automatically renew until you notify us to cancel the contract. Seven days’ notice is required.

Can I pause my membership?

Yes. Please put in a suspension request via the contact form.

Memberships suspensions require 7 days notice for any suspensions. The minimum suspension term is 7 days, and the maximum suspension is 56 days annually. In the first 16 weeks of your membership, the maximum suspension term is 14 days.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes.

What does automatic top-up mean?

Automatic top-up means that when you run through your class pass, our system automatically stocks you back up with five or ten classes, depending on your preference.

Do you offer discounts for family members?

Yes. For a family membership each family member will receive 10% off the cost of the membership payment. The discount applies to immediate family living in the same household and requires a four month commitment.
