Cycle Collective Richmond, established in 2014, is recognised as Melbourne’s premier performance-based indoor cycling studio. We specialise in collaborating with schools, sporting clubs, and sports teams across Melbourne to deliver customised training programs that complement training routines and goals.

 

We have room for groups up to 20 people with easy parking and access to public transport

 

OUR UNIQUE APPROACH

 

At Cycle Collective, we believe in integrating education, fitness, and fun. Our programmes are designed in conjunction with sports coaches and teachers to support and enhance fitness outcomes through engaging, non-impact indoor cycling sessions.

COLLABORATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES

 

In discussion with sports teachers and management, we work to understand the rubric elements taught in the classroom and how we can reinforce these elements in a safe and inclusive way, on a stationary bike. Throughout our sessions, we cover essential topics such as:

 

  • Biomechanics and Muscle Groups: Educating students on the principles of biomechanics and the role of different muscle groups in fitness.
  • Energy Systems: Exploring the differences and inter-relationships of various energy systems, which form the foundation of fitness outcomes.
  • Zone Training and Heart Rate Training: Teaching the principles of zone training, heart rate training, and Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE).
  • Training Protocols: Discussing endurance, strength, and power training protocols, including key aspects of effort and recovery.
  • Sports Specificity: Relating these principles to students’ chosen sports, ensuring they understand the importance of sports specificity, cross-training, and injury prevention.

TEAM BUILDING & INCLUSIVENESS

 

We incorporate team-building activities into our training sessions to foster camaraderie and improve teamwork skills while ensuring inclusiveness at all times. Our goal is to empower students with knowledge that helps them make informed decisions about their health and fitness.

 

INTERACTIVE & GAMIFIED WORKOUTS

 

Using our in-house software, Spivi, we offer an immersive workout experience with real-time animation, connecting riders to support personal best efforts. This gamified approach makes fitness fun and engaging for students.

ADVANCED FITNESS TRACKING

Our real-time data tracking allows students to monitor their performance throughout each session. Metrics tracked include distances, kilojoules, calories burned, average power, and power-to-weight ratios, helping students see the impact of their efforts and set achievable fitness goals.

Our system seamlessly syncs with smart devices, including Smart Watches, Strava, Training Peaks, HR monitors, and bike computers.

EQUIPMENT & ACCESSIBILITY

 

We have 20 bikes in total, using 2 styles of bikes – one style is more like a spin bike and the other has a road bike feel – so we can cater for various abilities and fitness levels.

We provide clip-in shoes (sizes 37-48) and also cater to those who prefer using regular athletic shoes.
